"It is our aspiration that all people of Amsterdam with disabilities have an opportunity to become participants in our city"
After a session with council members, work was done with various council members and especially with Councilor Yvonne Hoogtanders on three motions. The session, to which many social entrepreneurs have all contributed, has given extremely good input to the council members.
The good news is that all three motions from the various council members have been adopted in the council. De Omslag is particularly very pleased with the motion about more impact on purchasing in which the following is requested:
The motion:
Requests the college of mayor and aldermen – To implement standing policy and to formulate concrete desired results. These results include at least:
- Impactful tendering becomes the norm. Extra impact is asked for and appreciated in the assessment of the applications for each tender, unless this is – substantiated – not possible.
- To take the first steps in 2024 and to fully clarify in 2026 how impact is requested and appreciated in the assessment of the tenders in municipal tenders.
- To inform the council annually about the deployment and the results of impactful purchasing.
In our opinion, this will really make a difference in the coming years in the purchasing of the municipality of Amsterdam. We thought this was a reason to celebrate.
