On September 25 2014 CRE8 opened it’s doors at Herengracht 37H. De shop with workspace was officially opened by Roeland Rengelink from city district Centrum.
CRE8 is a newly opened social firm which assists youth that are far removed from the job market by creating chances to develop and cultivate interests, build up work experience and receive training in the use of machinery in the workplace. Cooperation partner Streetcornerwork guide and assist the youth at the workplace. In addition CRE8 also has a commercial branch: digital production. This includes 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting and mass production. CRE8 plays a role in design creation all the way to the final product.
During the opening of the firm, attention was given to how CRE8 was founded. In addition, it was possible to view and admire some of the products and designs created by these young people and see the 3D printer in action.
