"It is our aspiration that all people of Amsterdam with disabilities have an opportunity to become participants in our city"

Socialezaken.info renewed

Renewed websitesocialzaken.info makes social purchasing even easier. While the website was previously mainly focused on purchasing by the Municipality of Amsterdam itself, the website is now expanding to also support regular companies that want to make impactful and social purchasing.

Socialezaken.info, an initiative of De Omslag and the Amsterdam platform for social purchasing for 10 years, has undergone a renewal to make social purchasing accessible to a broader audience.

And that is desperately needed. With the European guidelines and policies, social purchasing and responsible entrepreneurship are becoming an important point of attention for all entrepreneurs, suppliers and companies. It was time to strengthen this important development (SDGs, CSRD) and make it visible on socialezaken.info.

What’s new?

De Omslag has spoken to regular companies and social firms to meet their needs and suggestions with the innovation. This has led to a strong improvement:
- User-friendly homepage: the clear structure provides direct access and navigation to appropriate information.
- Filters for companies: quickly find the services and products of social firms that match your specific impact goals and social return requirements.
- Improved page for the Municipality of Amsterdam: social firms recognized by the municipality are clearly recognizable. Municipality and suppliers have their own page and filter options to easily find how they can meet social purchasing obligations through purchasing from social firms recognized by the municipality.
- Information and support page: visitors to the Website can learn more about everything related to social purchasing and register for an online consultation hour if they have further questions.

The importance of innovation

With this innovation, socialezaken.info promotes the involvement of both companies and governments in social purchasing. Visitors can directly establish and deepen relationships with social firms. Everyone is invited to sign a “declaration of intent”: https://socialezaken.info/nl/informatie-support/pledge to strengthen these partnerships.

The renewal of the website was made possible by the European “Buy WISEly project”: https://www.deomslag.nl/nl/europa/focus-op-buy-wisely, aimed at promoting the social economy. To highlight this innovation, a social media campaign is being launched that draws attention to the various new functions and social companies on the website.
