"It is our aspiration that all people of Amsterdam with disabilities have an opportunity to become participants in our city"
During this meeting, social entrepreneurs committed to work integration (WISEs) and regular businesses came together. The goal? Linking social enterprises and regular businesses to stimulate impactful collaboration.
The event started with a presentation about the European “Buy WISEly”: https://www.deomslag.nl/nl/projecten/buy-wisely project by Jack Stuijfbergen from Breedweer and MKB Metropool Amsterdam together with Corine van de Burgt, director at De Omslag. This project aims to increase cooperation between WISEs and regular companies. Several speakers, such as Oos Kesbeke from Kesbeke Tafelzuur and the councilor of Amsterdam West, shared inspiring stories about the importance of social entrepreneurship.
22 declarations of intent were signed between social enterprises and regular companies in which they intend to work together. The more companies participate, the more opportunities there will be for people who desperately need them! The event showed how collaboration can make a difference for a stronger social economy in Amsterdam.
