"It is our aspiration that all people of Amsterdam with disabilities have an opportunity to become participants in our city"

Experience House

Based on the experience gained from the development practices of the Amsterdam network and Meetellen, we are launching the Experience House from De Omslag. We want to explore whether the Meetellen method—entrepreneurship with experiential knowledge from a value-driven collective—can also be applied to other products.

Experience House

The Experience House is a space where people with experiential knowledge/expertise undertake joint entrepreneurial initiatives within a value-driven collective. Self-management is the foundation: they make plans, develop services and products, acquire assignments, execute them, and report on them. It is based on the experience of Meetellen and aligns with a needs assessment and plan created a year ago by a group of expert initiators from the Amsterdam Network for Experiential Knowledge cooperative.

Purpose

People with experiential knowledge/expertise collaborate to create entrepreneurial ventures. They sell services and products that resonate with the lived experiences of people with physical, psychological, and/or social vulnerabilities. Through these products and services, they contribute to an inclusive society and are compensated as a collective for their contributions. Self-management is central to all efforts, organized through self-governance as a guiding principle within the organization and in the products offered.
